Good morning all you wonderful lovely people— today is a wild day for me and I have a whole bunch of new posts scheduled to drop on Poets Like Us but today I’m going to keep it short and sweet!
My debut poetry collection Last of the Hardcore has just been published by Bonemachine and is now available to purchase!
I’m incredibly proud of this book and Bone Machine did a fantastic job with it. For a decade I’ve been publishing chapbooks and selling out of them but now I have a perfect bound beast of a collection.
Obviously Amazon is a corporate devil but we’re pushing all sales through there for convenience and all that.
Here’s a piece of the preface:
This book of poems is for the doomers, a battlecry of a generation that was born into a world on the precipice of disaster — a world where the fruits of every budding tree had already been grabbed by the skeletal corporate hands of empire. This is for the dreamers— for the day drunk apocalyptos, for the supermarket angels, for the meme kids hiding from the sun, for the emo generation that knew the shopping mall as a holy place, for the dirty kids dancing in the summer rain, for the burnouts flipping empties for another chance at nirvana, for the forgotten ones with holes in their shoes, for the buddha face stoics of the festival grounds, for the bacchantes of the punk basements cathedrals, for the poets who have never written a word, for the wayward heathens of suburbia, for those who follow the hymns of Morpheus to sleep, for those who chase three am looking for truth.
This is for the hardcore.
Very excited for you all to be able to read it and I’ve been a ball of excitement for the last ten hours since it dropped. For those folks who can’t wait for it to arrive we will also be having a release party tonight at Belmar Arts Center in Belmar at 7.
Thank you and I have some wild posts coming starting next week.
Much love,
Damian
